He won a bronze for the United States in the 1996 World Championships. He won a Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins in 2011. He won the Conn Smythe Trophy for being the MVP of the 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs, becoming the oldest player in league history to do so at 37 years old. In 2011 he won the ESPY award for Best NHL Player. Thomas holds the records for most saves by a goaltender in a playoff run, and in a Stanley Cup finals series. He was the only Bruin not to attend a White House visit in 2012 due to his political beliefs. Tim and his wife Melissa have three children.
