Amrapurkar appeared in over 200 roles with his last coming in the 2013 film Bombay Talkies. In addition to acting Sadashiv was a social activist and philanthropist. He was severely beaten while protesting water waste in Mumbai in 2013. Sadashiv Amrapurkar passed away on November 3, 2014 at 64 years old after contacting a lung infection.
