Early Life

Peter Francis Dante was born on December 16, 1968 in West Hartford, Connecticut. He is a graduate from Hofstra University, where he played on the school’s lacrosse team.

Career

After graduating from college, Dante began performing stand-up comedy in clubs and on television. He quickly gained a following and began to appear on shows such as “The Late Show with David Letterman” and “Saturday Night Live.” In 1994, he made his film debut in the Ben Stiller-directed film “Reality Bites,” playing the character of Rock.

Adam Sandler Collaborations

Dante’s breakthrough came when he began collaborating with fellow comedian Adam Sandler. The two met in the 1990s and began working together on films such as “The Wedding Singer” (1998) and “Big Daddy” (1999). Dante quickly became a fixture in Sandler’s films, appearing in “Little Nicky” (2000), “Mr. Deeds” (2002), “50 First Dates” (2004), and numerous other films.

Other Roles

In addition to his work with Adam Sandler, Dante has also appeared in numerous other films and television shows. He played the character of Dante in the film “Grandma’s Boy” (2006), which he also co-wrote. He has also appeared in television shows such as “Reno 911!” and “The Jamie Kennedy Experiment.”

In 2018 Peter and his wife Cynthia were sued by Megan Fox over a Malibu home they sold the actress in 2016 for $3.2 million. Megan sued the couple seeking $5 million in damages for selling them what she referred to as a “money pit” with serious issues including a nasty mold problem. The two sides ultimately settled with the Dantes paying Megan an undisclosed amount of money in April 2021. Megan ultimately sold this home in mid-2023 for $4.5 million. In 2009, Peter sought a restraining order to protect himself, his two sons and his wife from the husband of a woman Peter allegedly spoke to on the phone in an allegedly romantic way. The man reportedly called Peter and threatened to cut his genitals off and shove them down his throat.
