Before producing films, he was a screenwriter for the television series Laverne & Shirley. Levinson worked for Cannon Entertainment and wrote the movie Mission in Action 2. He made a cameo in the 1994 film Gambler V: Playing for Keeps as a card player. Larry Levinson has won Western Heritage Awards for Streets of Laredo, Love’s Christmas Journey, and Shadow on the Mesa. He has also won Character and Morality in Entertainment Awards for Love Comes Softly, Love’s Enduring Promise, and Love’s Long Journey.
